In addition to shutters we’ve recently been taking on more varied carpentry and joinery work that makes a change for all of us here. Today’s carpentry piece is a bespoke bay window storage bench that was built and installed last week, right as the June heatwave hit. The pictures above show the bench right after our carpenter finished installing it and it’s now ready to have shutters added and be kitted out with cushions. In the pictures above you can see how neatly the whole piece is joined and how much storage these benches provide. With input from the customer a shaker style facing was also agreed upon to match the central division across the bench and the style of the home.
This particular bay window seat was made by our carpenter Roberto who tells us he really enjoyed putting the whole thing together and is very pleased with the result. Although The Shutter Studio specialises in plantation shutters our fitting team are carpenters and joiners by trade who enjoy putting together a wide range of work. Employing fully trained carpenters as our fitters also means that if there are any small problems when your shutters are fitted we can usually sort them out there and then, rather than having to make a repeat visit to survey the problem. So from the initial measure to choosing the materials and working out the best way to fulfil the needs of the clients all of our carpenters enjoy taking on more intricate jobs such as these to keep their skills fresh.
Stay tuned for more of our carpentry work as we continue to help our customers with those extra finishing touches that really bring a home together. From shelving units to wall panelling we’ve tackled many odd shapes and sizes, both in the lifetime of our company and in the years before. We offer a free quotation and measure service for both shutters and carpentry so if you’re thinking about getting bespoke furniture for your home contact us today.
