If you’re looking to add shutters to a bathroom or any room where condensation would create an issue for wooden shutters we recommend our composite uPVC range. Manufactured using closed cell composite shutter technology, these shutters are designed for the toughest of environments and are easy to maintain. Unlike a wooden shutter it will not warp when exposed to damp and is otherwise just as customisable as our MDF and basswood ranges. It’s easy to clean and strong as well as dent and chip-proof, this shutter is the most durable shutter available at The Shutter Studio.
Although recommended for bathrooms and wetrooms some customers choose to finish more than one room in this material to make sure their shutters stand the test of time. Alternatively, for those who would prefer to have wooden shutters in their bathrooms as well as the rest of the home we can accommodate this on a reduced warranty.
Our made to measure uPVC shutters are available in five standard white finishes – from Pure White to Creamy and come with a few extra features that make them more suitable to damp environments:
- First is the plastic rollerball catch that keep the shutters firmly closed – this is as opposed to the standard magnetic closing that come with our wooden shutters.
- Second are the stainless steel hinges – these ensure every part of your new shutters remain in the best possible state regardless of the conditions.
- Finally both the shutters and the hinges are guaranteed for five years as standard – compared to our standard three years hinge guarantee
